Elder Darryl Herder

Executive Pastor

Elder Darryl Herder is the second of three children born to Diane Herder and the late Isaac Herder, Sr., and was born in Levittown,Pennsylvania.  He and his family later moved to the Southern New Jersey area where his mother was burdened with the task of raising three children on her own.  Although their family didn’t have much, his mother instilled in them the importance of working hard and pursuing their goals.

In the early 90’s, he met a person that God would use to change his life forever.  For the first time in his life, he was faced with the question, “What about Jesus?”  This person gave him a Life Application Bible, and challenged him to seek God.  One evening before going to bed, he opened the Bible to John 3:19-20, “This is the verdict: Light has come into the world, but men loved darkness instead of light because their deeds were evil. Everyone who does evil hates the light, and will not come into the light for fear that his deeds will be exposed. But whoever lives by the truth comes into the light, so that it may be seen plainly that what he has done has been done through God.”

In the year 2000, Darryl finally yielded to the drawing of the Holy Spirit and accepted Jesus Christ as his personal Savior.  His heart was burdened for men, young and old, who struggled to find their way without Jesus Christ.  Gifted in the areas of Evangelism, Teaching and Exhortation, he became active in Street, Prison and Youth Ministries as well as the Men’s Choir.  Darryl now lives a life of true freedom; for whom the Son sets free is free indeed!

In 2003, Darryl was called by God to minister the Gospel of Jesus Christ.  He presents the Gospel in a way that is practical and heart-felt.  In 2004, Darryl married Reverend Cheryl Hill-Herder, a woman who is clearly ordained by God to help him move into a new level of spiritual growth and development.  They are the co-founders of Path of Life Christian Ministries, Inc., a ministry committed to spreading the love of Jesus Christ throughout the region.  Darryl is an annual participant in “Bill Glass – Weekend of Champions” Prison Ministries. Additionally, he developed a teaching series entitled, “Men of Action – Allowing Christ To Interrupt Our Negativity” and “LIFEPaths”, a youth and leadership development program.  He also developed and administrates the Path of Life website.

Darryl's life verse is Acts 26:16-18, "But rise and stand on your feet, for I have appeared to you for this purpose:  to make you a minister and a witness both of the things which you have seen and of the things which I will yet reveal to you.  I will deliver you from the...people...to whom I now send you to open their eyes in order to turn them from darkness to light and from the power of Satan to God that they may receive forgiveness of sins and an inheritance among those who are sanctified by faith in Me."
