Every church needs to have a purpose statement that answers the question, “Why do we exist?”

At Path of Life Church, we filter every idea, program, and budget request through our purpose statement.  If what we plan doesn’t help us meet our purpose, then we don’t do it.
 
Our purpose here at Path of Life Church is summarized in a single statement:

“To reach people with the life-giving message of the Gospel that they might become fully devoted followers of Jesus Christ.”

Our statement of purpose is based on two teachings of Jesus:

 

MATTHEW 22:36-40
The Great Commandment: “Jesus said, ‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart...soul...and mind. This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: Love your neighbor as yourself. All the Law and Prophets hang on these two commandments.”
 

MATTHEW 28:19-20

The Great Commission: Jesus said, "Go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to do everything I have commanded you.”
